The bolts are designed to shear off just below the outer surface of the connector body to eliminate the need to file, whether you are connecting to American Wire Gauge conductors or metric conductors. These connectors can be used for applications up to 46 kV and can be packed in a kit with 3M Splices QS-III or purchased separately.
